A bittersweet transition

My last week of employment on staff at my church happened to be the week our people didn’t go to church at all! (I’d sent an all-church email blast with the headline, “This weekend, don’t come to church!”) Instead we had a party tailgate style at the Fox Cities Stadium.

About 12-hundred came to the morning worship service, and then we tailgated (is that a verb?) before the big game. The lump in my throat threatened to become tears I felt over leaving this incredible staff. So I did what I always do and kept myself plenty busy! I ran around taking photos to post on our website and Facebook group page.

I am thankful for the experience, the friendships and that these thousands of people are still my family.
